Shopping online with us is completely safe and secure.

Internet security and the safeguard of our customer important information is of the upmost importance here at The Original Bathroom Company.

That's why we use the best internet security systems. We do understand that some people are a little cautious when shopping online, but we use some of the highest levels of security systems available in the UK. The servers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an advanced encryption technology that protects important and personal information.

Our security systems not only meet the industry standard of 1024 BIT but are actually twice as secure at 2048 BIT. All important information such as credit card numbers and personal information is processed externally by SagePay (formally Protx) and protected by the VeriSign Green EV bar (shown below), SSL Security and Extended Validation.

When you purchase online with us, the process is fully automated and nobody ever sees your card information at any stage during the process.

3D Secure

3D Secure stands for Three Domain Secure - the payment industry's internet authentication standard which has been developed by the major card schemes.

Visa has called their version of the scheme 'Verified by Visa' and MasterCard have called their equivalent initiative 'MasterCard SecureCode'. These are both collectively referred to as 3D Secure.

3D Secure authentication requires the cardholder to register their card to take advantage of this service. This is a one time process which takes place on the card issuer's website and involves the cardholder answering several security questions to which only the card issuer and cardholder will know the answer. The cardholder selects a password and agrees on a secret phrase, which will be used by the card issuer during each online transaction. 3D Secure can be thought of as an online version of 'Chip and Pin' technology, whereby the cardholder has a personalised password registered with their card that is entered during the checkout process. All online consumers should soon become familiar with this as it is becoming more widely used across reputable internet stores.

As of March 2010 all online shops must use 3D Secure - we have been using it for much longer as it protects us as well as the customer! An example of the 3D Secure screen is shown below:-

All credit card transactions will appear on your credit card statement as 'The Original Bathroom Company'. Access to personal information is limited to those members of our staff who have the necessary authority to access it.


Privacy

We operate a privacy policy in respect of the information we collect about you.

When you order via telephone or in person, we ask for certain information including your name, delivery address, credit or debit card number and expiry date, email address and telephone number. This information allows us to process your order and inform you of your order status.

We may also use your information to inform you of special offers, promotions, new products and changes to our web site. If you do not wish to receive this information please send a request to be removed from our mailing database by sending an email to enquiries@originalbathroomcompany.co.uk with 'unsubscribe' as the subject header.

The Internet is global and it is possible that information you provide to us will be temporarily transferred via a route outside the European Economic Area as it passes between you and us.
